MGBio successfully conducted a specialized workshop on “Identification of Taxonomic Biomarkers from Metagenomics Datasets” during the 3rd International Conference on Science, Technology, and Innovation held at Kinnaird College for Women, Lahore, on February 19, 2025.
The workshop was led by Prof. Dr. Amjad Ali, CEO of MGBio, who served as the resource person. Expert facilitation was provided by Hajra Qayyum, Muhammad Sarfraz Talib, and Zaara Ishaq, who guided participants through practical sessions focused on metagenomic data interpretation and biomarker identification.
This hands-on training provided researchers and students with valuable exposure to advanced techniques in microbial community analysis, with a special focus on identifying key taxonomic biomarkers relevant to health, environment, and biotechnology. Participants engaged with real datasets, enhancing their understanding of microbiome dynamics and their applications in research and diagnostics.
By fostering a collaborative and data-driven learning environment, the session encouraged academic interaction and critical thinking, aligning with the growing need for bioinformatics expertise in modern life sciences. The workshop also served as a platform for early-career scientists to build skills in one of the most rapidly evolving areas of biological research.
MGBio remains dedicated to promoting genomics education and capacity building in Pakistan through focused workshops, expert-led training, and academic partnerships.
